The Imperial Apulia is the smallest Apulia province, but its landscape in incredibly various. Along the Adriatica Cycle Route you will find for first  the salt wetlands of Trinitapoli, a privileged place for watching luogo many specied of migratory bird such as thecharming pink flamingos, and Margherita di Savoia, a thermal center with undenless beaches. From Barletta, native city of the impressionist painter Giuseppe De Nittis, you will encounter a chain of cities featuring castles and romanesque cathedrals with the gorgeous Trani and Bisceglie with its small and nice fisherman’s port.

As you go up the valley of the Ofanto, the only real river in Puglia, you will come across the archaeological site of Canne della Battaglia, where Hannibal fought the Romans, and Canosa, surely the city with the richer archaelogical heritage in Apulia. And, as you go on,  Minervino Murge, the balcony of Apulia with its intact shape and a genuine cuisine starring wild vegetables and the Cardoncello mushroom. Here, one of the most excellent DOCG ( Geographical Controlled Designation of Origin) wines is produced, namely the Nero di Troia.

But Imperial Apulia means also Parco Nazionale dell’Alta Murgia with its breathtaking horizon.

Off-road cyclists won’t miss a ride along the Ciclovia della Trifora from Andria to Castel del Monte or  a visit at the Bauxite caves and the Bosco di Acquatetta in Spinazzola following the Aqueduct Cycle Route.
